Eclectica Contemporary Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2026

We are delighted to announce our upcoming participation in the 13th edition of Investec Cape Town Art Fair, taking place 20 – 22 February 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

Eclectica Contemporary’s presentation at Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2026 brings together artists whose practices engage material as both substance and language. Across textile, paint, wood, tapestry, photography, and mixed media, the works assembled here interrogate how identity, memory, spirituality, and history are inscribed, erased, and reconstituted through surface.

The exhibition foregrounds artists who work between figuration and abstraction, tradition and rupture, the intimate and the political. Whether through Konaté’s monumental textiles, Dingwall’s constructed photographic tableaux, Khatab’s palimpsestic urban surfaces, Phenyane’s playful yet charged figuration, Akinola’s psychologically rich portraiture, or Barthélemy’s collaborations with endangered craft traditions, each practice reflects a sustained engagement with material as a carrier of meaning.

Together, these works propose materiality not as passive matter, but as an active site of transmission — holding stories of place, belief, labour, and becoming.

Participating artists include: Abdoulaye Konaté, Justin Dingwall, Ibrahim Khatab, Bob-Nosa Uwagboe, Thando Phenyane, Ebenezer Samuel Akinola, Yasmine Yacoubi, Louis Barthélemy, Younes Khourassani, and Lars Fischedick.
